1966 Ferrari 330 GTC

Pininfarina harmoniously blended design elements from multiple Ferrari models when creating this 1966 grand tourer. The front end took inspiration from the 500 Superfast, while the tapered rear section echoed the 275 GTS Convertible, connected by a new canopy with a generous glass area and slender pillars that provided excellent visibility.

Despite its luxury positioning, the 330 GTC rode on the proven chassis architecture of the 275 GTB Berlinetta, set on a 94.5-inch wheelbase. The rear-mounted five-speed transaxle configuration, as used on later 275 GTB models, provided balanced weight distribution and a sporting character distinct from the front-mounted transmission of the 330 GT 2+2.

Power came from Ferrari’s 242-cubic-inch (4.0-liter) Colombo V-12 producing 300 horsepower, the same single-overhead-cam-per-bank engine family used in the 330 GT 2+2. Three Weber carburetors fed the all-aluminum unit. Standard equipment included power windows, leather upholstery, and disc brakes at all four corners.

Production spanned just two years before the model transitioned to the 365 GTC in 1968, with approximately 600 coupes built. The combination of Pininfarina styling, a competition-derived layout, and refined road manners has earned the 330 GTC recognition as one of the last truly classic Ferrari grand touring coupes.
