🐾 FRANCINE IS HOME! 🐾
After weeks of worry, Richmond’s most famous cat is back where she belongs — roaming the aisles of the Broad Street Lowe’s.
Francine, who had lived at the store for nearly eight years, mysteriously disappeared in mid-September. The search soon pointed to a Lowe’s distribution center in Garysburg, North Carolina, nearly 85 miles away.

What followed was nothing short of incredible. Lowe’s and animal welfare groups teamed up with 246 cameras, thermal drones, and humane traps to track her down. On October 4th, surveillance finally caught her on camera. That same night, volunteers set traps, and just before midnight… click — Francine was safely inside one.
At 4 a.m., a pair of determined employees — Store Manager Mike Sida and Associate Wayne Schneider — drove through the night to bring her home. When they reunited, Francine let out a loud meow as if to say: “What took you so long?”
Thanks to persistence, teamwork, and community love, Francine is back in Richmond, greeting customers and living her best life. 💙
