1952 Delahaye 235 Convertible (by Antem)
As successor to the famed 135 series, the 235 model featured a powerful 3500cc six-cylinder engine with triple carburetors, generating 152 horsepower and capable of reaching 180 km/h—figures considered extraordinary for that era. Only 85 examples of the Delahaye 235 were manufactured between 1951 and 1954, with bodies crafted by prestigious coachbuilders including Letourneur & Marchand, Figoni & Falaschi, Saoutchik, Motto, Chapron, and Antem. The cars came in various body styles such as coupes, roadsters, coaches, and convertibles.
Antem produced 14 bodies for the 235 chassis, but created just one convertible version—making this particular design extremely rare. The elegant flowing lines and abundant design elements of this French grand tourer exemplified the artistic approach to automotive styling that characterized the golden age of French coachbuilding during the early 1950s.
