In 2018, unforgettable photos circled the globe showing 83-year-old Ali Mege from Bolu, western Turkey, watching his home burn holding nothing but his cherished kitten in his arms.
The fire, which he accidentally sparked, destroyed almost everything he had. But in the middle of the devastation, Ali found comfort in saving the one life that mattered most to him.
Years later, he’s back living in his rebuilt home a quiet reminder of resilience, survival, and the unbreakable bond between a man and his cat.
