Chu Jiu was only a tiny baby kitten, shaking on a dark street like he had been forgotten by the whole world.

When a kind person picked him up, he did not even cry. He was so skinny and light it felt impossible that he was still alive, and his little eyes looked tired like he had already given up.

They waited, hoping his mother would return, but she never came. So Chu Jiu was carried home in safe hands, wrapped in warmth for the first time in his life, and given milk like a true lifeline.

The next day brought fear when blood appeared in his stool, and his rescuer stayed close, praying this sweet soul would survive.
