Raspy sat on Mariel’s doorstep in the cold rain, crying with a broken voice that sounded like pure pain. His fur was soaked, his eyes were tired, and he looked like a cat who had been waiting too long for someone to notice him.

He didn’t run. He just begged for love like he had nothing left.

Raspy wasn’t born a stray. He used to have a home, until his family moved away and left him behind like he didn’t matter.

He stayed near the house for days, searching the driveway, watching strangers come and go, still believing they would return.

That day, Raspy’s cry finally reached the right heart.
