1969 Lamborghini Islero S

Production of just 100 Islero S examples made this the rarer evolution of Lamborghini’s already limited Islero, which totaled only 225 units between 1968 and 1969.
A subtly revised hood with a shallow scoop, wider wheel arches, and brightwork gills behind the front wheels set the S apart visually, while Carrozzeria Marazzi’s three-box coupe silhouette (created by former Touring employees) prioritized cabin space over the period’s fashionable fastback designs.
Giotto Bizzarrini’s four-cam 3.9-liter V12 produced 350 horsepower through six Weber carburetors, delivering roughly 25 additional horsepower over the standard Islero and matching the Miura S on paper.
A five-speed manual transmission worked with independent suspension at all four corners, while Girling disc brakes handled stopping duties. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph took under 6.5 seconds, and top speed approached 160 mph.
Despite Ferruccio Lamborghini using an Islero as his personal transportation, buyers favored the more ostentatious Espada, leaving the Islero S among Lamborghini’s rarest production models.
