1946 MG Midget TC Roadster

Released in the aftermath of World War II, the MG TC Midget Roadster made a significant impact on automotive history. This British sports car featured a 1,250cc XPAG overhead-valve engine that generated 54 horsepower, allowing it to reach speeds of nearly 80 mph. The TC model improved upon its TB predecessor with a body that was 4 inches wider and updated suspension featuring Luvax-Girling hydraulic dampers.

The TC Midget played a pivotal role in introducing British sports cars to American drivers. Between 1945 and 1949, MG produced 10,000 units, with many finding homes in the United States. The car delivered open-air driving excitement and sporty performance at reasonable cost, making it accessible to enthusiasts. The TC’s combination of classic styling, engaging driving dynamics, and attainable price point helped establish the British sports car’s enduring appeal in the American market.
