1963 Buick LeSabre Convertible
Buick enlarged its entry-level full-size model in 1963 with bolder styling featuring a stamped grille, vertical taillights, and slab sides accented by triple ventiports that narrowed to jaunty vents.
The convertible body style returned to the LeSabre lineup after a one-year absence, joining sedans, hardtops, and station wagons in a series that produced 171,183 units across all body styles.
Black paint with red accents created dramatic color combinations on the open-top body style, which featured a power-operated convertible top. Chrome bumpers and bright trim strips complemented the two-tone exterior schemes available across the model range.
Power came from Buick’s 401 cubic inch Nailhead V8, rated at 265 horsepower at 4,400 rpm, driving the rear wheels through a Twin Turbine Dynaflow automatic transmission.
Priced at around $3,200, the LeSabre convertible offered full-size American motoring with Buick refinement at accessible pricing.
