1925 Lincoln Model L ‘Beetle Back’ Roadster

This ultra-rare roadster represents the perfect fusion of Henry Leland’s engineering precision and Edsel Ford’s aesthetic vision during Lincoln’s golden age.

After Ford Motor Company acquired the struggling Lincoln Motor Company in 1922, Edsel Ford transformed the marque by commissioning America’s finest coachbuilders to create distinctive bodywork.

Brunn & Company of Buffalo earned particular favor, even bodying some of Edsel’s personal vehicles. The “Beetle Back” design featured a distinctive tapered rear section that subtly anticipated the more dramatic boattail designs that would become popular later in the decade.

With reportedly only three survivors from the original six examples built, this roadster ranks among America’s rarest luxury automobiles.

Lincoln produced 8,440 examples across all Model L body styles in 1925, making any coachbuilt variant exceptionally scarce.
