1955 MG TF 1500 Roadster
Only 3,400 examples of the TF 1500 were built between mid-1954 and 1955, making it the rarest of the post-war T-series MGs.
Louvered hood sides, faired-in headlamps, and available wire wheels (plain discs were standard) defined the exterior, while sweeping fenders maintained the traditional British sports car character.
The 1,466cc inline four-cylinder engine produced 63 horsepower at 5,000 rpm (compared to 57 horsepower in the earlier 1,250cc variant).
Dual SU carburetors and an 8.3:1 compression ratio contributed to performance, while torque increased by roughly 17 percent. A four-speed manual transmission managed the power.
Three octagonal instruments faced the driver: a large speedometer, tachometer, and a combined gauge monitoring oil pressure and water temperature, with a separate ammeter for electrical charge. The drilled-spoke, wood-rimmed steering wheel completed the traditional cockpit layout.
