Sometimes cats get themselves into trouble that seems straight out of a cartoon.
That was exactly what happened to a tiny orange kitten in Fall River, Massachusetts, whose curiosity got her stuck in one of the strangest situations you could imagine.
This 6-month-old kitten was spotted roaming the streets with a glass bowl jammed over her head.
It looked almost like she was wearing a space helmet, turning an ordinary day into a survival mission.
The poor little adventurer could barely see where she was going, and she definitely couldn’t smell a thing.

Her bizarre situation caught the attention of the Animal Rescue League of Boston and Fall River Animal Control.
The teams knew right away this was going to be a tricky rescue. A scared kitten, a glass bowl, and a busy street, time was not on their side.
She was part of a group of community cats who often roamed Danforth Street together, but she was the only one sporting a very unusual accessory.
Despite the bowl blocking her senses, she continued following her siblings, completely unaware that help was just around the corner.
Rescuers set up food in a drop trap to lure the group in.

Even though she couldn’t smell the food, the little kitten’s curiosity got the better of her. She wandered right into the trap, and that was the moment her life changed.
Once safely contained, the team carefully worked to remove the glass bowl.
It turned out to be a light-fixture cover that had somehow gotten stuck just tightly enough to stay on her head.
When it finally came off, everyone let out a sigh of relief. She was dirty, tired, and confused, but otherwise healthy.
The team gave her the perfect name: Buzz Lightyear.
After all, she had just spent who-knows-how-long looking like she was ready to blast off into space.

Buzz was taken to the ARL adoption center, where she got a full check-up, vaccinations, and was spayed.
This was the beginning of a brand-new chapter for her.
At first, Buzz was understandably cautious.
Life on the streets had made her wary, and it took a little time for her to trust the humans caring for her. But soon enough, her playful side began to shine through.
She started exploring her new home, climbing, playing, and watching the other cats with wide, curious eyes.
The ARL team shared her journey online, explaining that Buzz loved the company of other cats but still needed time to warm up to people.
Staff and volunteers worked patiently with her every day, slowly earning her trust.

Each small breakthrough was a reason to celebrate, the first time she let someone gently pet her, the first time she leaned in for a scratch behind the ears, the first time she purred.

Buzz had grown confident, social, and ready for the next step.
She was adopted into a loving forever home, where she now has both a new family and a feline friend to keep her company.

She had found the perfect place to spend her first holiday season, warm, safe, and surrounded by love.
