On a busy street where life kept moving, a small cat lay on the roadside, completely still.
Dozens of people walked past him. No one stopped. No one even looked twice. It seemed like the cat had been left to face his final moments alone.
But his story was not going to end there.
Two men happened to be passing by. Unlike everyone else, they noticed the cat.
He looked lifeless, but something in them said they had to check.
When they got closer, they were stunned. The cat was breathing, but he was not moving.

He was completely motionless and covered in mud.
They bent down, expecting the cat to try and crawl away. Most strays do.
But this one did not move an inch. It was then they realised why. He could not move. He could not even stand.

After careful checks, the vet discovered the cat was suffering from calicivirus, along with severe dehydration and malnutrition.
The good news was that there were no broken bones. But there was still a serious problem.
The virus had affected his nervous system, leaving him unable to walk or even sit upright.
The rescuers were relieved he had a chance, but they also knew the road ahead would not be easy.
They decided to take him home and help him recover.
First, they gave him a warm bath, gently washing away the mud and dirt that had stuck to his fur.
Throughout the entire time, the cat stayed calm, almost as if he knew he was finally safe.
They named him Ozzy.

Because of his illness, Ozzy had to stay away from other cats, but that allowed him to focus fully on his healing.
The rescuers made sure he had a comfortable place to rest and plenty of food to help him regain his strength.
Day by day, Ozzy made slow progress.
The rescuers helped him through physical therapy. They encouraged him to move using his favourite treats as motivation.
At first, his steps were tiny and shaky, but he kept trying.
Even when he stumbled, he never gave up. His determination was clear to everyone who saw him.

One day, something incredible happened. Ozzy started running. It was not perfect.
Sometimes he still lost his balance, but he would quickly get back up and keep going. His rescuers were amazed.
