1935 Ford CZX Sedan

Developed as part of Ford’s strategy for international markets, the 1935 Ford CX Sedan represented a compact alternative to the larger American models. Originally designed for British consumers, this small-bodied Ford featured styling similar to its full-sized American counterparts but in a more modest package.

Standard CX models came equipped with a 1,172cc four-cylinder engine generating approximately 30 horsepower. The CX arrived as an upgraded trim level of the Model C introduced earlier that year, offering additional refinements and creature comforts. With its practical dimensions and efficient engine, these vehicles provided an economical option while maintaining Ford’s recognizable design language. Despite their popularity abroad, these compact Fords remained relatively uncommon in the United States, where larger vehicles dominated consumer preferences.
