TRIGGER WARNING
(This post contains sensitive and distressing content)

This afternoon, I came across this cat after it had been struck by a car.

The incident occurred near the main road at 1708 17th Street, Santa Monica, California.
The driver who hit the cat did not stop and drove away as if nothing had happened.
It’s heartbreaking and deeply upsetting to witness such a lack of compassion.

We immediately picked the cat up and rushed it to a local Santa Monica veterinary clinic.
Sadly, despite our efforts, the cat passed away before we arrived 😢

The veterinary team checked for a microchip in hopes of identifying the owner and notifying them.

Please, if you are a driver, be mindful—especially in residential and city areas.
And if you ever see an injured animal, don’t walk away. Even stopping to help can make a difference.
