1961 Morris Minor

The 1961 Morris Minor holds a special place in automotive history as the first British car to reach one million units produced. To celebrate this achievement, BMC created the “Minor Million” series, finished in distinctive Lilac paint with white leather interiors featuring black piping, special chrome wheel trims, and unique badges.

Under the hood, this compact vehicle featured a 948 cc OHV four-cylinder engine generating 37 horsepower, paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car’s 86-inch wheelbase supported front torsion bar suspension and rear semi-elliptic springs, providing balanced handling for its time. Only 349 commemorative Million models were manufactured, with just 21 built to North American, left-hand-drive specifications.
