Hagan was just a tiny kitten lying still because moving hurt too much.
Her small body was glued to the floor her fur pulled tight her legs unable to run.
Hunger and thirst had already taken most of her strength and her cries faded into silence.

For days Hagan stayed there waiting with tired eyes and a shaking body.
She did not know why the pain would not stop or why no one came sooner.
Her heart kept beating even as her hope grew thin and fragile.

When Hagan was finally found she was weak malnourished and barely holding on.
Her body was broken by suffering but her spirit had not fully let go.
She waited quietly for safe arms to finally reach her.
