BenBen was once called the saddest cat in the shelter, and it was easy to see why. His ginger face looked heavy with pain, like he had cried too many quiet tears. He came in injured after surviving the streets, and even when his body started to heal, his eyes stayed shattered and tired.

A family finally chose him, and for a moment it felt like his suffering was over. But they brought him back because his medical needs were too much, and BenBen’s hope collapsed. After that, he stopped eating, stopped drinking, and hid like he didn’t want the world to see him anymore.

Days passed and nobody even looked at him. The shelter began to fear he would never walk again. Then, right before the end, everything changed.
