Paralyzed Kitten Was Fighting For His Life After Being Hit By A Car But Vets Found Something Even More Alarming On The X-Ray

It was just another day when someone spotted a tiny figure struggling to move across the street.

A small kitten, no older than two months, was dragging himself on the road in full view of passing cars.

His little legs were limp. He was exhausted. And the step onto the sidewalk was too much for him to manage.

Moments later, he collapsed on the ground.

Thankfully, someone nearby noticed what was happening and rushed out to help.

The kitten was quickly scooped up and taken to the hospital. The journey was urgent. He could barely breathe and was dangerously cold.

The vets wasted no time. X-rays were taken. He was given a warm meal.

But the results were heartbreaking.

He had a fractured tail. Worse still, he had developed pneumothorax and air was trapped in his chest, making it hard for him to breathe.

Surgery was needed, but his body was too weak.

The vets decided to monitor him closely for three days before anything could be done.

As the team worked, one thing became clear. This kitten was a fighter.

Even as he whimpered during injections, even as he trembled from the cold, he kept trying to crawl and move.

He was confused, scared, and overwhelmed by the new environment.

But he didn’t give up. He stayed awake for as long as he could.

Then finally, when his strength gave out, he fell asleep mid-treatment.

The vet gently tested his legs while he slept. There was no response. His hind legs were completely numb.

The news wasn’t easy to hear. The kitten’s spinal injury was serious. But the vet offered a small hope.

He said that since the kitten was so young, there was still a real chance for recovery. The catch?

The surgery would require expensive materials and delicate work. It wouldn’t be easy.

But the decision was made. No matter the cost, this kitten would be given a chance.

He was named Six-six. And from that moment, everyone was rooting for him.

Over the next few days, Six-six received oxygen therapy and daily care. His eyes were dull, but he kept eating. He responded to kindness.

He cried out for attention. Slowly, his condition began to stabilize. But there was one more twist.

When the vet looked closely at the scans, he noticed something strange.

Six-six’s tail wasn’t just broken. A bone at the base of it was completely gone.

The missing bone wasn’t visible on the X-ray. The only solution was to use surgical materials to reconnect his tail to the rest of his body. It was going to be complicated.

Since the first hospital couldn’t handle the surgery, Six-six was carefully transported to a second one.

The journey took over an hour, and he soiled his carrier multiple times along the way.

But even then, he didn’t cry. He didn’t complain. He just waited.

At the new hospital, the vets performed a 3D CT scan. The injury was likely caused by being run over by a car.

It was assumed that Six-six had tried to escape and his tail snapped in the process.

But despite the trauma, he still had fight left in him.

Every day, he ate as much as he could. He showed signs of improvement.

And then, finally, after thirteen long days, surgery went ahead. It was a success.

But his journey wasn’t over.

After the operation, the vet introduced acupuncture to help Six-six regain feeling in his legs. And it worked.

Day by day, he started walking again. He was allowed to exercise for a few hours each day.

In return, he was rewarded with his favorite food.

Six-six quickly learned the routine. Eat. Walk. Nap. Repeat. He became more active, more curious, and much more vocal.

His voice, once soft and delicate, began to deepen. Within a few weeks, it was like he was a new cat entirely.

By day twenty-three, Six-six had made friends at the hospital.

He would sneak around playing with IV tubes and wandering between rooms. He had gone from being a fragile kitten to the unofficial mascot of the clinic.

But just as things were settling down, another setback came.

On day seventy, Six-six was brought back to the hospital with a painful infection near his tail.

It was a tough blow. He had only just recovered from his earlier trauma.

But with quick treatment, he bounced back.

By day eighty-five, he was climbing walls at home.

By day ninety, he was confidently making a mess, playing with cat litter and trying to steal food from the older cats.

Six-six had survived the unthinkable. From near death and paralysis, he had clawed his way back to health, one tiny paw at a time.

Now he spends his days causing trouble, making friends, and living the kind of life every animal deserves.

The kitten no one thought would survive had become the cat no one could ignore.
