Depression can make a home feel silent and cold, even when you’re not alone. One woman was sinking deeper every day, crying in secret, feeling like her heart was slowly breaking apart. She didn’t need fancy words or big answers. She just needed something warm and alive to stay beside her.

At the Humane Society, she met Missy, a gentle gray cat who had already been abandoned and returned twice. Missy looked calm, but her eyes carried a story of being unwanted. Still, she leaned in for love like she was praying this time would be different.

When Missy finally came home, she didn’t just fill an empty apartment. She filled a shattered heart with quiet comfort, soft purrs, and safe love.
