Some cats are aloof and independent. Others are clingy and affectionate.
But imagine being given up simply because you love too much.
That is exactly what happened to a sweet black-and-white kitty named Ellie.
Ellie’s story started at an adoption event in Fork Union, Virginia, where she sat in her kennel, quietly watching people pass by.

One of those people was Julia Wood. She was drawn to Ellie, sensing that there was something special about her.
As she got closer, she noticed a note attached to the kennel. What she read made her heart sink.
The note explained Ellie’s past and the reason her previous owners had returned her to the shelter. It turned out that Ellie was given up for being too affectionate.

“I was returned to the shelter because I wanted to sleep with my human at night and I wasn’t allowed to, so I would cry outside the bedroom door.”
