Yoda was a tiny stray kitten pulled from a car hood, shaking and hissing like she expected harm. Her ears stayed flat, her eyes stayed hard, and every hand felt like danger.

The other kittens softened and left, but Yoda stayed behind, unwanted, called mean, and left with a broken little heart.

At home, she met Justine, a rescue cat on strict bed rest with a badly broken front leg. I placed Yoda’s cage beside Justine’s so she would not vanish or get hurt.

Night after night, Yoda growled, then listened, then slowly breathed easier.

Justine began licking Yoda through the bars, sharing naps, and teaching calm. In that quiet garage, two wounded souls found safe arms together at last.
