He died in our arms.
We picked up a small orange tabby from beside a trash bin—his paws were tied together, his body weak, his breath barely there. We could feel how long he had been hurting. We knew we were too late.

We rushed him to the nearest vet as fast as we could, but even there, the doctor told us we were already too late. His body had carried more pain than he could survive.

In his last moments, he rested quietly in human hands that finally cared.

We couldn’t save him—but we will not look away.
We are doing everything we can to find the people who did this and turn them over to the police. No animal deserves cruelty. Not in our neighborhoods, not in our communities, not anywhere.
