1958 Dodge Suburban Spectator 2-Door Wagon
Dodge’s two-door Suburban wagon received Forward Look styling in 1958, featuring quad headlamps, pronounced fins, and chrome trim characteristic of the era.
The sole two-door offering in Dodge’s wagon lineup, the Suburban combined passenger car styling with practical cargo capacity, accessible through side doors and a roll-down rear window in the tailgate.
All 1958 Dodge wagons came standard with a 318 CI poly-head V8, replacing the previous year’s Hemi design. Optional engines included the 350 CI Ram Fire wedge-head V8, which used a four-barrel carburetor and 10:1 compression to produce 295 horsepower. TorqueFlite pushbutton automatic transmission was optional, with manual gearboxes also available.
The D-500 performance package remained available across the Dodge range, including wagons. In D-500 form, the 350 CI V8 received dual four-barrel carburetors for increased output, making these wagons unexpectedly quick despite their family-oriented mission.
Production totaled approximately 1,300 two-door Suburban wagons for 1958, making this configuration substantially rarer than Dodge’s four-door Sierra and Custom Sierra wagon variants.
