1957 Lancia Appia GT (by Zagato)

The 1957 Lancia Appia GT showcases Italian coach-building excellence with distinctive Zagato styling. This small but potent sports car evolved from the standard Appia, which debuted in 1953 as a replacement for the Ardea. While basic Appias produced modest output, this GT variant houses a spirited 1,089cc V-4 engine delivering 53 horsepower through a four-speed manual transmission.

Unlike the Pinin Farina coupé and Vignale convertible that Lancia sold directly, Zagato’s athletic interpretation was never officially marketed by the manufacturer, creating an exclusive “out of series” status. The lightweight body, hydraulic disc brakes, and refined suspension combine to deliver engaging performance characteristics.
