Good news from our shelter For almost two years, Cocotte watched the world from behind gentle metal bars. She saw kittens come and go, heard the happy sounds of boxes being packed for new homes, and waited—quietly, patiently, never making a fuss. Volunteers knew her well: the calm one with the thoughtful eyes, the cat who leaned into soft voices and trusted slowly, deeply.

Day after day, Cocotte stayed. Not because she wasn’t wonderful—but because sometimes the soft souls are the last to be noticed.

Then one afternoon, an incredibly kind lady walked in. She didn’t rush. She didn’t look past Cocotte. She sat down, spoke softly, and waited. Cocotte did what she always does when someone truly sees her—she moved closer, blinked slowly, and rested like she’d finally exhaled.

That was it. No drama. No hesitation.

Today, Cocotte isn’t a “long-term shelter cat” anymore. She’s someone’s home. She has a warm lap, a quiet house, and a human who chose her not in a hurry—but with her whole heart.

After nearly two years of waiting, Cocotte’s forever finally arrived. 🐾❤️
