When the boy’s father received a call from the school informing him that his son had not attended class, his heart sank. He grabbed his keys and was about to go search for him when, before even stepping out, the phone rang again.

This time, it wasn’t the school—it was a pet clinic. “Your son and a cat are here with us,” the caller said. Confused and concerned, the father rushed over immediately.

The truth soon came to light. It turned out that on his way to school, the boy had spotted a stray cat being bullied by other children. Without hesitation, he stepped in to stop them, picked up the kitten, and made the children an offer: he would give them his bicycle in exchange for letting the cat go. Afterward, instead of going to school, the boy walked to a nearby pet clinic to make sure the kitten received proper care.

Though the father scolded his son for skipping school, his tone was filled with unmistakable pride.

Surveillance footage of the incident later spread online, warming the hearts of countless people. An anonymous donor gifted the boy a brand-new bicycle, and the kitten officially became a part of their family.

When the media asked the father to share his thoughts, he simply said, “As parents, it is our responsibility to teach our children to carry kindness in their hearts.”
