1952 Lancia Aurelia B52 Coupe (by Vignale)
Italian automotive excellence took an impressive form in the coachbuilt variants of Lancia’s early 1950s flagship. First appearing after the underpowered B10 berlina faced criticism, this refined design evolved to satisfy discerning customers seeking personalized luxury. The specially developed B52 chassis featured a slightly extended 2,860mm wheelbase and housed a sophisticated 2.0-liter V-6 engine.
Unlike its production siblings, these specialized platforms were delivered exclusively as bare chassis, allowing wealthy clients to commission their preferred Italian design houses (including Vignale, Pinin Farina, and others) to create distinctive bodywork. Carrozzeria Vignale created approximately five examples, each showcasing unique styling cues. These hand-built treasures have become highly sought after by collectors and frequently appear at prestigious concours events worldwide.
