1941 Packard Super Eight One-Eighty Convertible Victoria

Hollywood designer Howard “Dutch” Darrin created one of 1941’s most distinctive luxury automobiles by convincing Packard to produce his glamorous convertible design.

The signature “Darrin Dip” featured dramatically swept door cuts that created an unmistakably racy silhouette compared to conventional luxury cars of the period. Celebrity owners included Tyrone Power, Errol Flynn, and Al Jolson.

Built on Packard’s 138-inch One-Eighty chassis, the convertible featured elegant proportions with classic proportions and refined detailing. Power came from Packard’s 356 cubic inch inline eight-cylinder engine producing 160 horsepower, paired with a three-speed manual transmission with optional overdrive.

Only 930 One-Eighty models were produced in 1941, making the Darrin Victoria exceptionally rare. Prices ranged from approximately $2,600 to $5,600, positioning it at luxury automotive’s apex.
