Clothed in handcrafted aluminum coachwork by Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, the 1900C Super Sprint is among the most visually refined Italian grand tourers of the 1950s.

The early five-window coupe body style, used on initial Super Sprint production before Touring introduced a cleaner three-window design around 1956, features a distinctive Alfa Romeo shield grille flanked by horizontal side intakes, a design that influenced later Alfa Romeo models including the Giulietta Sprint.

Approximately 854 examples of the 1900C Super Sprint were produced between 1954 and 1958, with significantly fewer believed to survive today.

The short-wheelbase 1900C chassis (102.4 inches) underpins a 1,975cc twin-cam inline-four producing approximately 115 horsepower in standard form, enough to push the lightweight alloy-bodied coupe (about 2,315 lbs / 1,050 kg) to a top speed approaching 118 mph.

A four-speed manual transmission and independent front suspension with coil springs, paired with a live rear axle located by trailing arms, gave the car handling well suited to competition, and the 1900 appeared regularly in events like the Mille Miglia and Targa Florio.

The combination of relatively low weight, DOHC engineering, and Touring’s Superleggera coachwork made the Super Sprint the definitive expression of the 1900 platform.
