I was driving toward Miami when I noticed something on the side of the road.
At first I thought it was just debris… but my heart told me to stop.

It was a cat.

I pulled over as fast as I could, hoping there was still time. But when I got closer, I realized I was already too late.

What hurt even more was seeing a piece of twine around its legs. I don’t know what happened. I don’t know who did this. And maybe I never will.

I couldn’t just leave this little soul there. So I found a small spot nearby and gave it a simple burial. Some flowers. A little dignity. A little love.

It may have been “just a cat” to some, but it was a life.
A life that deserved kindness.

If you ever see an animal in need, please stop if it’s safe. One small act can mean everything.

Rest easy, little one. You were seen. You were cared for. 🐾💔
