1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible

The 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible, “a car with its own zip code,” marked the dramatic “last stand” of the American luxury convertible. GM heavily promoted it as “the last convertible it would ever produce,” triggering a buying frenzy among collectors. At that time, the claim was genuine.

Powered by a massive 500 cubic inch (8.2-liter) V8 producing 190 horsepower, this land yacht stretched nearly 19 feet long. The final 200 cars were special “Bicentennial Edition” models finished in white-on-white interiors commemorating America’s 200th birthday.
