This is my best friend of 14 years and soul mate Mister Boots.. he was diagnosed in November with 2 meningioma tumours in the soft tissue surrounding his brain. I managed to get him in with an amazing neurologist who provided me with said diagnosis and gave me the option of $20,000AUD (minimum) surgery or steroids and anti seizure medication to manage the pressure on his brain until his quality of life became too poorly.. having already spent $10,000AUD on vet bills, mris and ultrasounds I had to opt for the medication route as i don’t have $20,000+ AUD unfortunately for the surgery to help him. 4-5 months later he is still with me but I’ve noticed in the past week the symptoms he initially showed before meds are starting to slowly creep back in (I think his vision is starting to go again which came back from medicine and his mobility is getting a bit sluggish). Has anyone else dealt with something like this? I know it’s not common.. but watching my everything slowly die over a 6 month period has been beyond painful and I don’t know how I will cope the day he does pass on.. I have had a ring made with his fur in it and have a beautiful urn ready (neither have I opened as I am not ready and won’t be til he passes on). Any coping advice would be appreciated. He’s all I have
