She wasn’t the baby’s mother. She wasn’t even human.In 2015, a stray tabby cat named Masha discovered an abandoned infant left in a box in the freezing stairwell of an apartment building in Obninsk, Russia. Instead of leaving, she climbed into the box and wrapped herself around the baby, keeping him warm through the night. Her desperate meows alerted neighbors, who came running. The baby was alive and the neighbors who helped would end up adopting the heroic stray.
