1956 Jaguar XK 140 MC Roadster

A British masterpiece from the mid-1950s, the 1956 Jaguar XK 140 MC Roadster replaced the XK 120 as Jaguar’s main open-top sports car. The update brought valuable improvements including more cabin room, better brakes, rack-and-pinion steering, increased suspension travel, and telescopic shock absorbers instead of the previous lever-arm design.

Production ran for three years with nearly 9,000 units manufactured, making it a highly sought-after classic today. The MC specification (called Special Equipment or SE in Europe) featured a modified C-Type cylinder head, larger SU carburetors, dual exhaust systems, wire wheels, and Lucas fog lights. This configuration generated 210 horsepower, making it the most powerful factory XK 140 available for road use at that time.
