This bird can spend months crossing tropical oceans without ever truly belonging to one shore.
In the warm blue waters of the Pacific, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans, the Red-footed Booby glides effortlessly above rolling waves and coral islands. Its vivid red feet and pale blue bill stand out against white or chocolate-brown plumage, flashing color as it lands in coastal trees.
Unlike many seabirds that nest on cliffs or bare ground, it often builds its nests high in mangroves and island forests. It dives with remarkable precision to catch fish and squid, vanishing into the sea before rising again into the tropical sky.
A wanderer of endless horizons, yet a graceful spirit of the ocean winds.
