This bird can vanish into the treetops even while covered in bright shades of green and gold.
High in the forests and groves of the Indian subcontinent, the Yellow-footed Green Pigeon rests quietly among fruiting branches, blending perfectly with the leaves around it. Its soft olive body, lavender-tinted shoulders, and vivid yellow legs make it one of the most colorful pigeons hidden in plain sight.
It feeds mainly on figs and other soft fruits, swallowing them whole before carrying seeds far across the forest. In doing so, it helps regenerate woodlands and spread new growth through areas untouched by wind alone.
A gentle fruit eater of the canopy, yet a silent gardener of the forest.
