But just as they had fought to survive in the trash, they fought to recover in the clinic. Day after day, the fleas disappeared, their tiny bodies grew stronger, and their spirits began to shine.

Feather, once weary and frail, slowly regained her strength. Her protective nature never wavered, but she no longer had to stand guard over her babies every moment of the night.

For the first time in what must have felt like forever, she could rest.

As the days passed, the transformation was remarkable. The puppies, who once hid under broken junk, now played freely in safety.

Feather, once weighed down by hunger and pain, now walked with her head a little higher, comforted by the knowledge that she and her babies were finally cared for.

While their journey is not yet complete — as they still await foster families and forever homes — the most painful chapter of their lives is behind them.
