1931 Mercedes-Benz 170 Sport Roadster
The Mercedes-Benz 170 (W15) was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 1931, designed under Hans Nibel. It had a 1.7-liter straight six-cylinder engine and independent wheel suspension all around, a first for Mercedes-Benz, which offered a more comfortable ride than its competitors. The engine generated 32 hp and was coupled to a manual three-speed transmission with additional overdrive, allowing a top speed of about 56 mph (90 kph).
