In 1996, a stray calico cat named Scarlett became a legend in Brooklyn.
When a fire tore through an abandoned garage, she did the unimaginable —
she walked through the flames five different times to pull out each one of her kittens. 😿🔥
Burned paws, singed fur, eyes swollen shut… even then, she gently tapped each kitten with her nose to make sure they were all alive. Only then did she collapse. ❤️🐾
Firefighters rushed them to safety. One kitten didn’t make it, but the others healed and found loving homes. Scarlett herself was adopted and lived peacefully for another 13 beautiful years. 🏡🐈‍⬛
Her bravery inspired books, awards, and even an Animal Heroism Award in her name.
Scarlett’s story is a reminder of one truth:
A mother’s love can walk through fire. 🔥💛🐱
