A Life of Solitude and Suffering
Florence’s story begins in isolation, far from any human connection. For too long, she endured a life of profound neglect. Chained and exposed, without even the basic necessities of shelter, food, or water, her existence was a daily struggle for survival.

Rescued from the Brink
Her days were marked by a constant battle against starvation, leaving her critically weak. The discovery of her condition was met with disbelief and heartbreak. How could anyone inflict such cruelty upon a living being? Florence, a Chow Chow, was a shadow of her former self, incredibly skinny and frail.

A Glimmer of Hope Emerges
The rescue organization, Help Feed Bow Collet Dogs, stepped in, recognizing the urgent need for intervention. It was clear that Florence required immediate veterinary attention and a gentle, warm bath to begin her healing process. The road ahead would be long, but the first step towards recovery had been taken.

Admitted to Care
Florence was transported to the Veterinary Hospital of Madeira. This marked a significant turning point in her life. Here, she would finally receive the comprehensive medical treatment and dedicated care she had been denied for so long.

A Fragile Spirit
Upon arrival, it was evident that Florence was extremely weak and suffering from anemia. Her body bore the scars of her past ordeal. Yet, in a display of remarkable resilience, even after enduring so much suffering, Florence’s tail would wag, a testament to her enduring spirit.

The Road to Recovery
Her journey is far from over, but Florence is now in a place where she is receiving all the necessary care to heal and regain her strength. Her story is a powerful reminder of the importance of compassion and the incredible capacity for survival that animals possess.
