This bird looks as if it was painted with every bright color in the rainforest.

The Papuan Pitta inhabits the dense forests of New Guinea, where it spends much of its time hopping along the forest floor in search of insects, snails, and other small prey. Despite its vivid plumage, it can be surprisingly difficult to spot among the shadows and vegetation of its habitat.

A living splash of color beneath the rainforest canopy, turning every rare sighting into a memorable one.
