This parrot can transform its appearance in seconds by raising a spectacular feathered fan around its head.

The Red-fan Parrot inhabits the rainforests of northern South America, feeding on fruits, seeds, nuts, and berries high in the canopy. When excited or threatened, it spreads the elongated feathers on the back of its neck into a striking fan, making itself appear much larger.

A rainforest performer with a dramatic display, proving that nature sometimes saves its greatest surprises for the perfect moment.
