This bird is the closest living relative of the extinct dodo.
The Nicobar Pigeon inhabits small islands and coastal forests across Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean. Its shimmering metallic plumage and long neck feathers make it one of the world’s most spectacular pigeons, while it spends much of its time foraging on the forest floor for seeds, fruits, and fallen nuts.
A living link to a lost world, carrying the legacy of the dodo through every graceful step.
