Meet the Red-necked Grebe, a master diver that spends far more time underwater than in the air.

The Red-necked Grebe breeds on quiet lakes across Europe, Asia, and North America before migrating to coastal waters for the winter. Its rich chestnut neck and sharp bill stand out during the breeding season, while its powerful legs placed far back on the body make it an exceptional swimmer and underwater hunter. It dives with incredible speed to catch fish, crustaceans, and aquatic insects.

A true champion of the water, proving that some of nature’s greatest athletes are almost invisible beneath the surface.
