This bird wears a brilliant red horn unlike any other bird in the world.

The Horned Guan is a rare and endangered bird found only in the cloud forests of southern Mexico and Guatemala. Its most remarkable feature is the bright red horn on top of its head, a unique structure made of bare skin. Spending most of its life high in the forest canopy, it feeds mainly on fruits, leaves, and flowers, helping to disperse seeds throughout its mountain home.

A living treasure of the cloud forests, proving that some of nature’s rarest creations are also its most extraordinary.
