This tiny bird is so secretive that most people will never see it in the wild.

The Red-chested Flufftail is a shy marsh bird found in wetlands across parts of sub-Saharan Africa. With its rich chestnut breast and compact body, it slips silently through dense reeds and grasses, searching for insects, small snails, seeds, and other tiny prey. It prefers to stay hidden, making it far more often heard than seen.

A mysterious spirit of the wetlands, proving that some of nature’s greatest wonders reveal themselves only to the most patient observers.
