The African Pygmy Kingfisher is one of Africa’s smallest and most colorful kingfishers. Despite its name, it spends much of its time in woodlands and forests, where it hunts insects, spiders, lizards, and other small prey from low perches. Its brilliant orange underparts, vivid blue back, and bright red bill make it a dazzling flash of color among the trees.
