The Cape Sugarbird is a striking bird found almost exclusively in South Africa’s fynbos, especially where protea flowers grow. Its long tail and slender, curved bill are perfectly suited for feeding on nectar, while its specialized tongue allows it to reach deep inside flowers. As it moves from bloom to bloom, it also helps pollinate the plants that define this unique ecosystem.
