This bird looks like a living piece of artwork hidden deep inside the Philippine rainforest. The Palawan Peacock-Pheasant is one of the most spectacular birds of Palawan, with the male displaying an extraordinary tail covered in iridescent blue-green “eyes” that shimmer when caught by the light. It spends much of its time on the forest floor, quietly searching through leaf litter for seeds, fruits, and small invertebrates. During courtship, the male raises and spreads his magnificent tail to create a dazzling display for the female.
